Monarch, the leading independent airline and holiday company from Great Britain arrived in Zagreb on April 28, 2017 introducing a year round direct flights from Zagreb to London, and from Zagreb to Manchester. Exactly a month after the opening of the brand new Franjo Tuđman International airport comes the first new airline Monarch whose main goal is to provide quality connection between Croatian and Great Britain at a very affordable prices. Zagreb International Airport Franjo Tuđman welcomed the new airline with Inaugural ceremony.
First Monarch flight arriving from London on Friday 28th of April in Zagreb was welcomed with traditional water salute, Turopolje folklore dancers giving Zagreb gingerbread hearts to arriving passangers and with Inaugural cake. Surprised but happy passengers coming from the first Monarch flight was quite surprised but happy with welcoming presents, and it was nice to see the faces of departing passangers finding out that they are boarding the first Monarch flight to London. Great to have a new opportunity for planning a perfect weekend in cities of London and Manchester.
Inauguration ceremony at the new Zagreb airport was attended by David Gabelica, Member of the MZLZ d.d., David Page, Director of Communications of Monarch Group, Peter Clements, Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Martina Bienenfeld, Director of Zagreb Tourist Board.
David Page, Director of Communications at Monarch said: “We are very pleased to be launching new year round flights to and from Zagreb. Monarch is the only airline to fly direct to both Manchester and London Gatwick airports from Zagreb. Both destinations make for perfect weekend breaks with plenty to offer visitors. With the presence of media and representatives of Croatian tour operators and travel agents the Inaugural Ceremony organized in Monarch honour showed that there is a great interest in new direct flight routes to Great Britain.
With Monarch Croatian passengers now can fly directly from Zagreb to London – Gatwick three times a week, and to Manchester twice a week.
