For travel agents and touroperators B2B workshop was organized, and representatives of Croatian media could find more about new trends of traveling to Indonesia by networking with local Indonesian travel professionalists who presented their programs and business at Indonesian stand during three days of fair.
The author of the exhibition was Damir Zurub, World Champion in underwater photography, President of diving club „Roniti se mora“ and Mares Ambasador. The exhibition presented more than 30 fascinating photos taken during Damirs’ journeys through Indonesia and while diving in Indonesian archipelago.
The photo exhibition was done with a support of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Croatia. On Sunday, at the main stage Damir also shared with Fair visitors his travel experiences while travelling in Indonesia.
First day of the Fair was dedicated to the B2B visitors when Indonesian partners had the opportunity to present themselves during Wonderful Indonesia B2B workshop to the network of Croatian travel agents and tour operators.
The main goals of workshop were:
The motto of the tourism campaign represents the story of “Ten new Balis”. These are the following destinations: Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Belitung (Bangka Belitung), Tanjung Lesung (Banten), Islands Seribu (Jakarta), the Temple of Borobudur (Central Java), Mount Bromo (East Java), Mandalika Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), Komodo Islands (East Nusa Tenggara), Wakatobi National park (Southeast Sulawesi) I Morotai (North Maluku).
The presence of Indonesia in this year’s fair has shown the commitment of the Embassy not only in the improvement of cooperation in the tourism sector, but also to promote personal contacts and cultural understanding between Indonesian and Croatian.
Through its tourism campaign Indonesia by 2019 plans to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals to 20 million, while Croatian market is certainly one with a high potential when it comes to interest for travel to Indonesia. Tourist destinations of Indonesia now become more accessible – large cities are well connected by direct international flights, and many regular low-cost carriers fly to Indonesian cities or remote locations.
During all three days visitors of the Indonesia booth had the opportunity to see a live performance of traditional Indonesian dance Gembira, and to taste Indonesian food.
Gembira Dance has origins from Central Java and become part of Indonesian new creation of Traditional Dance. Gembira Dance pictures a childhood time which is full of happiness and every movement of that dance reflects the lively life of children . This dance is usually performed during wedding party or some celebration event including Independence Day.
One of the activities for visitors engagement was a „Wonderful Indonesia and Qatar Airways“ Photo Booth where they could take a photo and had the opportunity to win a trip to Indonesia for two persons.
