River Zrmanja is 69 kilometers long, originates from a strong springs at the foot of the mountain Poštak in southern Lika and flows into the Adriatic Sea. Things to do in Zrmanja

When planning your trip to Zrmanja have in mind that you can approach the river from two different sides of the mountain Velebit and adjust your activities according the the place you visit. One part of the river is mostly for those looking for the complete peace and quiet, and another one is well know as a perfect destination for activities as canoeing and rafting.

• Follow the road Gračac – Knin and turn at the place Palanka. Following the road after a couple of hundred meters houses will be on your left-hand side and on the river on your right-hand side. Usually mostly locals use this road, and as it is quite narrow, and does not offer a possibility for parking it might be a good idea to ask locals if you could use their yards for leaving a car for a couple of hours, or find some other convenient place next to the road.

Here you will not find any bars or restaurants, so you should take with you some basic food in case you know you will spend here some time. The water from the river is drinkable, so you can drink it either directly from the river or from the spring well (Zrmanja Vrelo) which you will find just next to the road.

We can say that this part of Zrmanja river is for those looking for a peace, quiet and a bit an activity – tracking, walking, swimming in the river or fishing.
