19 Apr Germany Tourism Board Annual Media Event in Croatia
The regional office of the German National Tourist Board in partnership with Lufthansa Group during the gathering for the media organized by magic4.club, on Thursday 7th of April in the Restaurant “Pri Zvoncu” in Zagreb presented the thematic campaign for 2016 “Wonderful vacation in the heart of nature in Germany”, as the leading theme of all marketing activities in 2016. At the gathering we hosted around 35 journalists whose work greatly contributes to the development of the culture of traveling in Croatia.
Welcome speech was given by Thomas E. Schultze, German Ambassador in Croatia while the annual theme of Germany promotion was presented by Tijana Djuricic, PR manager of the Regional Office of the German National Tourist Board for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. Surrounded by greenery, in an rural and idyllic restaurant “Pri Zvoncu”, and with tasting a great local food, media representatives had the opportunity at least to shortly move away from the city noise and feel the atmosphere similar to the one that is offered by rural regions of Germany.
A wonderful holiday in the heart of nature
Under the themed campaign of Germany that is dedicated to the nature at most there is an emphasis on Germany’s 16 national parks, 15 UNESCO biosphere reserves, and over 100 nature parks. Germany has 30 mountain setting, 350 islands and forested areas in the third area of the country, and a wide range of adventure activities in nature: 200 000 km of marked hiking trails, including 500 world-class hiking trails and over 100 high-quality trails and bike routes with the total length of 70,000 km. When we combine all the beautiful nature features, tourists in Germany can truly experience the “wonderful vacation in the heart of nature.”

Croatian tourists in Germany in 2015 increased by 46.5%
Number of nights of Croatian tourists in Germany grew from 191,142 overnight stays in 2014 to 287,348 overnight stays in 2015, which is an outstanding increase of 46.5%. Croatian tourists traveling to Germany on vacation (58%), because of work (29%) and other reasons (13%). The largest number of tourists traveling by plane (39%), car (38%) and van transportation (18%), and least by train (5%). Germany is the most popular with tourists middle-aged (55% of guests are between 34 and 55 years) and youth (37% of guests are between 15 and 34 years), and tourists over 55 account for only 8% of visitors to Germany. The most common are longer trips (10 nights), and Croatian citizens spend an average of 57 euros a day. Still the provision of accommodation and facilities more often conceived in advance through the agency (61%), while the younger generations opt for online booking (45%).
